Natural gas is the World’s Clean Energy Fuel. It is used residentially, commercially, and industrially to produce heat, and at power plants to produce electricity.
Used efficiently this natural gas energy will help the world to combat the Climate Cliff that is looming before us. LP Gas is another clean energy source that can be consumed just as efficiently as natural gas.
With the technology of Condensing Flue Gas Heat Recovery, natural gas and LP Gas can be consumed to well over 90% energy efficiency.
During the condensing flue gas heat recovery process, this heat energy is recovered from the waste exhaust, which then makes this heat then available for its original intended purpose. COOL exhaust will then be vented into the atmosphere. At times after this heat recovery process, the exhaust temperature will be even cooler than the outside air temperature. Mass cooling?
One other component of natural gas combustion is the WATER, which becomes available during this Condensing Heat Recovery process. This Clean-Distilled water is very usable.
How much water is there in combusted natural gas?
There are 2 metric Tons (2,000 liters) of water in every metric ton of natural gas that is combusted.
Power generation consumes a lot of natural gas. For each Mega Watt of installed power generation using a gas turbine, there is 1 Ton of water that is recoverable.
A Ton of water is a cubic meter which equals 1,000 liters.
Power generation from 1 MW to 100 MW and larger takes place using natural gas.
At each of these locations water can be created, and as a result less water needs to be pumped from the desalinization plants to these power plants.
There are a lot of opportunities to generate water as natural gas is consumed in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels and universities. Natural gas is also used in industrial paper mills, ceramic plants, abattoirs, dairies, food and beverage processors, petro chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Desalinization plants are expensive to construct and expensive to operate, and then this water has to be transported.
Creating this water in the area where it will be consumed will save a lot of energy and cost.
Some of this expensive desalinized water is also used for irrigation purposes. Any water (recovered/created) during this condensing heat recovery process can be used instead of well water or desalinized water.
Have you ever seen combusted natural gas irrigate the lawns and flower beds?
The lesson to be learned today is : Instead of blowing all this HOT exhaust from all these natural gas appliances into the atmosphere, the heat energy must be recovered with the technology of Condensing Flue Gas Heat Recovery, and then this recovered heat energy has to be utilized back in the building or facility.
This will greatly reduce emissions of CO2 and other oxides into the atmosphere.
The BONUS of all of this is the WATER that is created out of this natural gas, or LP Gas.
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced utility bills = Profit
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced global warming
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced CO2 emissions
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Water conservation.
Any natural gas that is not wasted today will be there to be used another day.
The world cannot evolve today without expending energy.
It is therefore of utmost importance that the energy and water we do consume today and tomorrow, is used as efficiently as is possible.
